I’m Henry Marks, a designer and maker based in London. I have spent nearly 20 years designing museums, exhibitions, visitor experiences and commercial environments, taking projects from initial concept through to detailed design, manufacture and installation.
My work has always sat between creative design and technical problem-solving, including the design of interactive exhibits and mechanical experiences where precision, movement and how people interact with an object are fundamental.

Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre, Kuwait (largest museum in the world). ‘When all is Quiet’ in Collaboration with the York Art Gallery and the Kaiser Chiefs (museum & heritage award).
From designing spaces to making objects.
Having recently completed a City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Furniture Design & Making, I’m now developing my practice in fine furniture - combining my experience as a designer with the precision and patience of making by hand.
Alongside developing my own work, I have returned to the Building Crafts College part-time, supporting the teaching team, tutoring conceptual sketching and contributing to college commissions.
PIVOT is the next chapter — bringing together design, craftsmanship, engineering and interaction to create furniture and objects with something more to discover.
